Team Zyvax specializes in road racing endurance. Typically, the races last for 4 to 8 hours and will have many pit stops to change tires and add fuel. Team Zyvax has won the championship for the mediumweight (600cc) class for last 3 years on the Yamaha R6. In 2010 they won the WERA Medium Weight Endurance Championship, the WERA Heavyweight Endurance Championship and the WERA Overall Endurance Championship. These championships were won on Graves Motorsports prepared Yamaha R1 and Yamaha R6 endurance bikes.
The setup of the mediumweight R6 is based on the winning bike used at the Daytona 200. We are using the Graves Motorsports proven package and putting systems in place to maintain that performance for many hours.
Moving to the heavyweight (1000cc) bike brings all kinds of new dynamics to the race. With more horsepower and higher top speeds, you have higher wear on tires and brakes. We also see strain on all moving parts like bearings, sprockets, and chains. Keeping the R1 at peek performance for the many hours it is racing is our challenge.
STAY TUNED for Team Zyvax Racing's 2011 plans to be announced here soon!
