Graves/Yamaha test a “Huge
Success” for Racers
Cypress, CA (February 24, 2006) - The Graves/Yamaha Factory Supermoto
team recently completed its first test session on the new four stroke
YZs in preparation for the upcoming 2006 AMA Supermoto series. X-Game
Gold medalist Doug Henry, Supercross Lites Champion, Mark Burkhart and
the newest Factory rider, Supercross Lites runner up Brandon Currie
pounded out lap after lap at Grange Motor Circuit.
The most exciting news for the Graves/Yamaha team is that each racer was
significantly faster on the new aluminum-framed, 5-speed YZs. Lap times
were over two seconds a lap faster than last season at the same track.
“The first day of testing typically is a ‘figuring out the bugs’
session,” explained Yamaha Racing Division Manager Keith McCarty.
“However, today the guys were so comfortable and fast on the new bikes
that it turned into a 3-man National out there! Overall, I’d say the
bike is a huge success for our team.”
